Qld Weather Forecast

Today

Isolated squally showers and thunderstorms over the Peninsula and far northern Gulf Country. Rain areas and thunderstorms elsewhere over the east tropical coast and adjacent inland with some heavy falls south of about Cairns. Isolated showers over the central coast and through the central interior east of Longreach. Mostly fine over southern districts only early morning fog patches and isolated light showers east of about Quilpie. Fine in the west. Moderate to fresh SW to NW winds in the tropics, gusty at times. Light to moderate mostly SE to NE winds elsewhere.

Tomorrow

A weak monsoon trough will most likely develop over the Peninsula district during the outlook period, with rain areas, showers and isolated thunderstorms extending over the tropics and easing to isolated showers and thunderstorms from the south as the trough contracts north. A series of upper level troughs will most likely maintain a band of shower and thunderstorm activity over remaining eastern parts of the state, particularly through central districts and the southeast interior.
