Albury Weather

Albury is a large, bustling inland city located just on the NSW side of the mighty Murray River. It was once considered as the site of the national capital, possibly because it sits within the triangle formed by linking Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Located in the far southwest corner of the NSW Southwest Slopes district, Albury has a classic inland climate with very warm summers and cold winters. The hottest month is January with an average daily temperature range of 16C to 32C and, at the other end of the scale is July with a typical range of 3C to 13C.

Heatwaves sometimes occur during the summer months, with temperatures reaching into the 40’s, and in contrast, frosts often follow in the wake of cold outbreaks during the winter.

Rainfall tends to peak during the winter months as cold fronts pass across the area, with July on average being the wettest month with 65mm. March is the driest month with 27mm, and the average yearly rainfall is 586mm.
