Bathurst weather
Bathurst is Australia’s oldest inland settlement, having been declared a town in 1815. It was a central location during the great gold rush era of the 1850’s when large amounts of gold were discovered in nearby areas.
Bathurst lies within the NSW Central Tablelands district and has an altitude of 715 m. Summers are usually pleasant, with the warmest month of the year being January which has an average temperature range of 13C to 28C.
Winters are usually chilly, with July the coldest month, having an average temperature range of 1C to 11C. Frosts are common on winter mornings and there is the occasional snowfall during cold outbreaks during the winter months.
Rainfall is spread fairly evenly across the year, with the wettest month being January (68.5 mm) and the driest May (42mm). The average annual rainfall is 634mm.
