Brisbane weather forecast

Brisbane has very warm and humid summers, with regular thunderstorm activity between the months of November and March.

These thunderstorms can produce severe weather in the form of heavy rainfall, flash flooding, damaging wind gusts and large hail. Brisbane has the highest daily rainfall total of any capital city, with 465mm recorded in January 1887.

Tropical Cyclones rarely reach Brisbane, although decaying systems can dump heavy rainfall on the city. Tropical Cyclone Wanda contributed to significant flooding of the Brisbane river during 1974.

Winters in Brisbane are generally mild and dry, with day time temperatures of around 20 degrees and night time temperatures of close to 10 degrees.

August and September are the driest months, both averaging less than 36mm. The wettest month on average is February, with 121mm.
