Mildura weather
Mildura is the largest city in north-western Victoria and lies on the banks of the Murray River. It is known as the centre of Victoria's Food Bowl and is a major producer of citrus fruits and wine.
Mildura has a semi arid climate averaging only 283 millimetres of rain per year, which is spread fairly evenly across all seasons. Winter and spring enjoy the most rainy days, but the heaviest falls occur from rare penetrations of the monsoon in summer or early autumn. Along with much of the state, since 2003 the city has suffered through a continuous spell of below average yearly rainfall.
Average maximum temperatures range from a hot 32C in January to 15C in July. Minimum temperatures range from around 17C in January to 4C in July. Mildura’s all time records for hot and cold are 47C and -4C respectively. Frost is common and often destructive to irrigated crops.
