Severe Weather Warning
for damaging winds
for people in the South West, North Central and Central forecast districts.

Issued at 3:38 pm EDT on Saturday 4 February 2012.

Weather Situation
Northerly flow will strengthen during Sunday ahead of a low pressure trough,
expected to move eastwards across western Victoria during the morning and early
afternoon, and eastern Victoria during the afternoon and evening. Winds will
shift gusty west to southwesterly to the west of the trough.

Damaging winds averaging 50 km/h with peak gusts around 90 km/h are forecast
for parts of the South West, North Central and Central forecast districts from
late Sunday morning.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
- Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
- Keep clear of fallen power lines.

The next warning will be issued by 11:00 pm EDT Saturday.

FLOOD WARNING FOR BUNGIL CREEK AND THE MARANOA AND BALONNE RIVERS
Issued at 2:16 PM on Saturday the 4th of February 2012
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane.

Major flooding is easing along Bungil Creek at Roma during Saturday morning.
Major flood levels will remain high on the Maranoa River at Mitchell during
Saturday. Major flooding remains at a peak downstream at Woodlands. Major flood
levels will remain high on the Balonne River at Surat as floodwaters from Bungil
Creek arrive.

At St George, river levels are expected to exceed the March 2010 level of 13.4
metres on Tuesday and Wednesday.

BUNGIL CREEK:
Major flooding is easing along Bungil Creek between Tindarra and Roma. The level
at Roma at midday Saturday was 7.4 metres and falling. Fast rises and major
flooding is occurring downstream at Garrabarra, with a peak expected during
Saturday.

MARANOA RIVER:
A second and smaller flood peak at Currawong of 10.7 metres was recorded at
10.30am Saturday, with levels currently easing slowly.

Major flooding at Mitchell remains high during Saturday afternoon. At midday
Saturday, the level at Mitchel (manual gauge) was 9.7 metres and reported as
near a peak.

Major flooding is easing downstream at Springfield with the main flood peak now
in the Woodlands area. Major flooding at Woodlands was steady at 7.8 metres at
midday. Fast river rises and major flooding will extend downstream to Old
Cashmere during the the weekend.

BALONNE RIVER:
Renewed rises are occurring at Surat and floodwaters from Bungil Creek will
maintain major flood levels for the next few days. The main flood peak is
currently in the Weribone area, where the river has remained steady at 13.08
metres since 10am.

Major flooding continues to rise at St George, where at 9am the level was at
11.39 metres and rising. River levels are expected to exceed the March 2010 peak
of 13.4 metres on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Downstream of St George, major flood levels are expected at all locations during
next week.

Mitchell Levels remain high during Saturday.

Balonne River at:

Surat Major flood levels to remain high near 10 metres for the next
few days.
St George Exceed 13.4 metres (Mar 2010 flood) on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Dirranbandi Remain over 5 metres during next week.

FLOOD WARNING FOR COASTAL AND ADJACENT INLAND CATCHMENTS FROM TOWNSVILLE TO
CAIRNS
Issued at 2:12 PM on Saturday the 4th of February 2012
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane.

The heavy rainfall that affected the Townsville area overnight Friday and during
Saturday morning is moving slowly northwards towards Cairns. Minor flooding is
easing in the Townsville area. Localised minor flooding is occurring in the
Lower Herbert River and in the Tully and Murray Rivers.

Further rainfall during Saturday afternoon in the Ingham and Tully areas may
lead to higher levels.

LOWER HERBERT RIVER:
Minor flood levels are rising at Abergowrie. River rises are extending
downstream to Ingham and Halifax. Minor flood levels at Halifax may reach
moderate flood levels later on Saturday.

TULLY AND MURRAY RIVERS:
Levels continue to ease in the upper Murray River, with minor flood levels
expected downstream at Murray Flats during Saturday afternoon and evening. Minor
flood levels are rising on the Tully River at Euramo, though moderate flood
levels are not expected.

PRIORITY
FLOOD WARNING FOR THE WARREGO RIVER
Issued at 2:03 PM on Saturday the 4th of February 2012
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane.

At 1pm Saturday, Charleville was 7.77 metres which is about the level of the
levee. It is expected to remain around this level during this afternoon and
tonight. Further rises are possible at Charleville later in the weekend,
depending on possible rises at upstream stations.

WARREGO RIVER TO CHARLEVILLE:
Major flooding is easing on Hoganthulla Creek at Wetlands. Major flooding in the
Warrego River at Lochinvar continues to rise. Major flood levels remain steady
downstream on the Warrego River at Augathella, where at 1:40pm Saturday the
river was steady at about 6.61 metres. Further rises are possible during
Saturday or Sunday but should remain below the April 1990 flood level of 7.3
metres.

Moderate flood levels are easing on the Nive River at Drensmaine. Major flood
levels continue to slowly ease at Biddenham, where at 1:30pm the level was 6.58
metres.

Major flood levels at The 27 Mile Garden are slowly easing, where at 1:30pm the
level was 5.82 metres. The January 1997 flood peak was 5.8 metres.

At 1pm Saturday, Charleville was 7.77 metres which is about the level of the
levee. Further small rises are expected to continue with a peak expected during
Saturday afternoon. Further rises are possible at Charleville later in the
weekend, depending on possible rises at upstream stations.

WARD AND LANGLO RIVERS:
Moderate flooding continues to ease in the Langlo River between Mount Morris and
Warilda. Major flooding is rising on the Ward River between Oakpark and
Binnowee.

ANGELLALA CREEK:
Major flooding is expected to be occurring at Authoringa during Saturday.

WARREGO RIVER DOWNSTREAM OF CHARLEVILLE:
Major flood levels continue to rise at Bakers Bend, with major flood levels
expected downstream to the NSW border during the next 7 days. Predictions will
be made once peaks are observed upstream.

Predicted River Heights/Flows:
WARREGO RIVER:

Augathella: Remains steady with possible further rises to 7 metres during
Saturday/Sunday.

Charleville: Further small rises expected during the next few hours.

Further rises are possible at Charleville later in the
weekend, depending on possible rises at upstream stations.

Cunnamulla Bridge: Reach 10 metres on Thursday or Friday.

For people in parts of the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands district.
Issued at 1:55 pm on Saturday 4 February 2012

Synoptic Situation: At 10am EST, a tropical low was situated approximately 440
kilometres east of Cairns and moving in an east to southeasterly direction at 6
kilometres per hour. The low is expected to continue moving in this direction
away from the Queensland coast.

Isolated areas of damaging winds with gusts above 90km/hr are occurring in parts
of the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands district, particularly on and east of
the ranges. Locations which may be affected include Babinda, Gordonvale,
Redlynch Valley and Smithfield. These conditions are expected to ease by this
evening.

Various reports of trees being uprooted have been reported in Babinda, Redlynch
Valley, Mossman, Tully and the northern beaches of Cairns this morning.

Emergency Management Queensland advises that people should:

* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.

Moderate to major flooding is occurring across the upper Barcoo River catchment,
and extending downstream to Isisford. Minor to moderate flooding is rising in
the Landsborough River and in the Thomson River above Longreach. Renewed rises
and moderate flooding is possible at Longreach during this weekend. Minor flood
levels are rising slowly on the Cooper Creek at Windorah, with moderate to major
flooding expected later next week.

BARCOO RIVER AND COOPER CREEK:
Minor to moderate flooding is easing in the upper Barcoo catchment at Tambo,
Gillespie and Glencoe. Major flooding is rising in the Jordan River at Jericho,
and in the Barcoo River at Blackall and through to Isisford. Moderate flood
levels are rising at Oma, with major flooding expected further downstream to
Retreat during next week.

LANDSBOROUGH AND THOMSON RIVER:
Moderate flood levels are rising along the Landsborough River at Muttaburra.
Minor flood levels are rising along the Thomson River at Camoola Park. Minor
flood levels are easing at Longreach, with further renewed rises and moderate
flooding possible over the weekend.

COOPER CREEK:
Minor flooding is rising at Windorah, with moderate to major flood levels
expected later next week.

Predicted River Heights/Flows:
Barcoo River at:
Blackall Major flooding during this weekend.

Thomson River at:
Longreach Renewed rises to exceed 4.3 metres (moderate flood) are
possible over the weekend.

FINAL MINOR FLOOD WARNING FOR THE CASTLEREAGH RIVER AT MENDOORAN AND DOWNSTREAM

River levels at Warrana Creek peaking at 3.5 metres this morning which means
that Coonamble will peak below its moderate flood level.

Minor flooding is continuing at Mendooran where the river will drop below minor
flood level during Saturday afternoon.

The Castlereagh River at Gilgandra peaked at 3.85 metres at 11am Saturday
morning and is now falling. This is well below minor flood level.

Moderate flood levels continue along the lower Weir River at Surrey, where

levels are approaching a peak. Moderate flooding continues at Talwood. Major

flood levels are continuing to rise at Jericho and are likely to peak later this

weekend.



Minor flood levels along the lower Macintyre River at New Kildonan are falling.

Minor flood levels are possible at Goondiwindi today and Sunday.



No significant rainfall has been recorded since 9am Friday across the lower Weir

and Macintyre River catchments.

Major flooding in Queensland is expected to cause moderate flooding in NSW from
mid February onwards.

Forecasts have been revised upwards to reflect this.

Synoptic Situation
A fresh to strong W to NW wind flow extends over eastern Gulf waters and into a
tropical low that lies over the northwestern Coral Sea. The low is expected to
continue moving east southeast over the Coral Sea over the next few days.

Strong Wind Warning
for Northeast Gulf Waters north of Weipa
SW to NW winds 25 to 30 knots. Seas 3 metres. A 1.5 to 2 metre NW swell.

Major flood levels are falling on the Moonie River at Mt Driven. Major flood
levels are continuing to rise downstream at Nindigully.

Major flood levels are continuing to rise at Thallon, with levels expected to
reach around 5.3 metres on Monday. This level is 0.2 metres below the level
reached in March 2010. Moderate flood levels are continuing to rise at Fenton,
with major flood levels expected on Monday or Tuesday.

FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FLINDERS AND GILBERT RIVERS
Issued at 11:31 AM on Saturday the 4th of February 2012
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane.

Minor flooding continues in the Gilbert catchment with some further minor flood
levels possible over the weekend. Moderate to major levels continue along the
Flinders River, with river level rises expected to exceed the level of the
Flinders River Bridge at Walkers Bend during the weekend.

FLINDERS RIVER:
Moderate flood levels are expected to continue at Richmond throughout the
weekend. Major flood levels continue through the weekend along the Cloncurry
River at Canobie. Moderate flood levels will continue through the weekend along
Dismal Creek.

River levels at Walkers Bend are expected to exceed the Flinders River Bridge
(5.4 metres) and will remain into next week.

GILBERT RIVER:
Rising minor flood levels have been observed at Miranda Downs.

Minor Flooding is occurring at Hebel, Goodooga and Goodwins on the Bokhara
River. Major Flooding is occurring at Kenebree on the Culgoa River.These rises
have been caused by recent local heavy rain.

Major flooding continues to rise at St George, where at 6AM Saturday, the level
was at 11.28 metres and rising. River levels could possibly exceed the March
2010 peak of 13.4 metres on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The flood waters from Queensland are expected to extend into New South Wales
around mid February, Moderate to Major flooding is expected along the Culgo,
Bokhara and Narran Rivers.

At this stage the flood level peaks in NSW are expected to be similar to those
that occurred during the January/February 2011 flood in these rivers.

Predicted River Heights/Flows:

Preliminary flood level predictions are provided below. Flood peak prediction
will be made when the Balonne River flood peaks at St George, Queensland next
week.

- reach 6.1 metres on 14 February with Major flooding, with further rises
possible.

- reach 6.1 metres on 20 February with Major flooding, with further rises
possible.

moderate flooding from the previous flood.

Releases from Menindee Lakes will be increased next week causing renewed minor
flooding at Menindee and downstream

A high pressure system centred south of New Zealand extends a weakening ridge

WALLAM CREEK:
Renewed rises are occurring at Homeboin, where major flood Levels are likely to
continue rising slowly during Saturday. Downstream, major flood levels will
continue to rise at Cardiff during Saturday and into Sunday. At 9am Saturday,
the major flood level at Bollon was 1.59 metres and rising. Levels at Bollon to
reach 1.7 metres during Sunday. The record peak at Bollon is 1.76 metres (March
2010).

MUNGALLALA CREEK:
Major flood levels at Tomoo will continue falling over the weekend. Major flood
levels downstream at Deelamon will continue to rise, with levels forecast to
reach around 6.5 metres on Saturday.

FLOOD WARNING FOR THE NOGOA, COMET, DAWSON AND MACKENZIE RIVERS
Issued at 9:00 AM on Saturday the 4th of February 2012
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane.

Rainfall totals of up to 50mm were recorded in the Nogoa River catchment since
9am Friday. Minor, possibly moderate, flooding is expected this weekend at
Taroom.

NOGOA RIVER:
Renewed minor flood levels are rising at Raymond and Craigmore, with further
rises expected. River levels up to 11 metres are expected at Emerald, which is
well below the minor flood level (14 metres). Minor flood levels will continue
at Duckponds throughout the weekend, with further rises and moderate flood
levels expected next week.

COMET RIVER:
Renewed rises to the minor flood level are likely at Rolleston during the
weekend. Renewed rises with at least minor flood levels are expected at The Lake
over the weekend. Minor flooding is expected at the Comet Weir over the weekend,
with further rises later next week.

MACKENZIE RIVER TO BINGEGANG:
Minor flooding continues at Yakcam.

DAWSON RIVER:
Moderate flood levels are rising at Utopia Downs and moderate flood levels are
expected at Tarana Crossing during the weekend. Minor flood levels are expected
at Taroom over the weekend, with rises above the moderate flood level of 6
metres likely overnight Sunday.

Further predictions will be made once upstream peaks have been observed.

Heavy local rain within the Breeza, Carroll to Gunnedah area during Friday has
produced a renewed rise to major flood level at Gunnedah during early Saturday
morning.

At Gunnedah, the Namoi River has peaked at 8.03 metres around 3am Saturday
morning causing major flooding. The river level at Gunnedah is now falling.

Minor flooding continues around Narrabri as the river continues to fall very
slowly. The higher peak a Gunnedah expected to only caused a slight rise at
Narrabri during Sunday.

The Namoi River at Wee Waa peaked near 7.3 metres around 8:30am Friday morning
with major flooding and is now falling slowly.

Releases are continuing from Keepit Dam. They are not expected to have a
significant impact on flood levels in the lower Namoi which have been largely
caused by local area runoff.

Predicted River Heights/Flows:

Boggabri - peak near 7.8 metres around 3am Sunday morning

Narrabri - remain close to 5.9 metres for Saturday with minor flooding
- rise slightly to peak near 6.1 metres Sunday night with minor
flooding

Wee Waa - remain steady near the 7 metre mark with major flooding until the
middle of next week
- no further significant rises are expected

Bugilbone
- peak near 6.7 metres around Monday [6/2/12] with major flooding

Goangra
- peak near 8.5 metres around 11/02/2012 with major flooding.

MAJOR FLOOD WARNING FOR THE BARWON RIVER AT MUNGINDI
Issued at 8:47 am EDT on Friday 3 February 2012
Flood Warning Number: 2

Heavy rainfall in the Mungindi area has produced rapid river level rises there.

Moderate Flooding is expected during Friday with a major flood peak expected
next week when Weir River flows reach Mungindi.

Flood Warning are current in Queensland for the Weir River and Macintyre River
at Goondiwindi.

Future predictions for Mungindi will be incorporated in the Barwon Darling
Flood Warning

Predicted River Heights/Flows:
Boggabilla - expected to remain below its minor flood level at this stage

Mungindi - peak near 7.3 metres around Tuesday (7/2/12) with major flooding
